Get Inspired by Protests Against Military Bases and Facilities in Europe and Asia/Pacific  Militarization is pushing into almost every corner of our lives. Military bases worldwide are more numerous, larger, and more heavily armed, including with nuclear weapons.
Watching governments prime for conflict, we know this is not about defense. This is about the unquestionable primacy of the military-industrial complex over government spending here, and multinational corporate rule world-wide. Profits matter. The state of the world that our children and grandchildren will inherit does not.
Global Women United for Peace Against NATO will host a webinar on Saturday, June 6 beginning at 10 a.m. Eastern time, to bring together women from across the world who have organized to defy militarism and defend community, environment, climate and democracy.

Speakers include Sung-Hee Choi of Women Cross DMZ on the people’s protests against the naval base and militarization of Jeju, South Korea, Kristine Karch of Stop Air Base Ramstein on this year’s peace week camp and demonstration at the base, and Edward Horgan, Veterans for Peace, Irish Peace and Neutrality Alliance on weekly protests at Shannon airport in 2025 and 2026, as well as speakers from the Philippines, New Zealand, Australia, UK, Spain, and France.

Global Women for Peace United Against NATO first met together in July 2023, in Brussels, where NATO has its headquarters.
